March 30, 2005

Stanford, Calif. - Junior Natalie Foley and freshman Tabitha Yim were named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Foley, who earned three all-conference honors last season, was named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team in the all-around, while Yim received All-Pac-10 accolades on the uneven bars. UCLA led all Pac-10 teams with 13 All-Conference honors, while Stanford and Arizona State each had two selections.

After battling early season injuries, Foley has returned to her role as Stanford's top all-around performer in recent weeks. The Englewood, CO native has competed in the all-around in each of the Cardinal's last seven meets, posting a personal season-high score of 39.250 at the Utah Quad on March 4th. Foley is currently ranked No. 47 in the nation with a 39.055 Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) in the all-around. The junior became the first Stanford gymnast to win the all-around title at the Pac-10 Championship, achieving the feat last season.

Yim received All-Pac-10 accolades for the first time after establishing herself as one of the top performers in the nation on the uneven bars. The Irvine, CA native is currently tied for seventh in the nation on bars with a 9.900 RQS. Yim was outstanding at the Pac-10 Championship in Berkeley last week, scoring a 9.900 to finish second on bars. She posted a personal season-high of 9.925 on the bars at Arizona on February 11th, and matched that mark against Arizona State on February 25th.

The Cardinal will travel to Seattle next weekend to compete at the NCAA West Regional. The field in Seattle will include Pac-10 rivals UCLA and Washington, as well as Central Michigan, Penn State, and Boise State.

The All-Conference Team consists of the top six all-around competitors, plus the top three competitors in each individual event. A gymnast's score is determined by a combination of 50 percent regional qualifying score (entire season composite) and 50 percent Pac-10 Conference Championships score.
