STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford women's soccer co-captains Nicole Barnhart, Natalie Spilger and Allyson Marquand have been named to the All-West Region team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Barnhart earned first-team honors, while Spilger and Marquand were named to the second team.
Barnhart, a native of Gilberstville, Pa., tallied 66 saves and seven shutouts at goalkeeper during Stanford's 10-9-2 season this year. Midfielder Marquand hails from Irvine, Calif., and led the Cardinal squad with 10 goals and 70 shots in 2003. Spilger is from El Cajon, Calif., and was part of a Stanford defense allowed 17 goals and posted seven shutout matches.
