Stanford Athletics Launches New All-Access Player Using Microsoft Silverlight Technology

Stanford, CA - Stanford Athletics in partnership with CBS College Sports will launch an enhanced and upgraded All-Access video player available on starting on October 1. All-Access offers fans access to view live streaming video of Stanford Athletics events.

The new All-Access is powered by Microsoft's Silverlight technology, providing increased web browser compatibility and a redesigned user-friendly, state-of-the-art interface. Those that do not have Silverlight on their computers will be required to perform a quick one-time download of Silverlight before accessing the new video player. Silverlight technology was recently utilized by NBC during its Internet coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The enhanced All-Access service is free of charge and gives fans the highest-quality streaming experience and the most online video coverage of Stanford Athletics. The new multimedia player also offers an improved search engine, which allows users to quickly locate videos they are interested in. Fans can search by sport, type of video and date to easily navigate to the newest content.

During the 2008-09 season, Stanford Athletics will stream more than 150 live events through All-Access. To view a schedule of upcoming webcasts visit

Also on October 1, fans that visit will have the opportunity to access Top Headlines, an embedded YouTube player, or live events via All-Access on the home page within one to two clicks. With a simple click of the YouTube tab, an embedded YouTube player will give fans direct access to view highlight video, interviews and other archived digital content without navigating outside of Additionally, by clicking on the All-Access tab, fans can view a schedule of upcoming events to be streamed via All-Access, as well as click to watch live events.
