Scouting Utah
Utah (4-11, 1-2 Pac-12) came away with a split of last week's homestand, picking up a 62-60 overtime win over Washington State before falling 57-53 to Washington ... Picked to finish 12th in the Pac-12 preseason media poll, Utah is 0-7 away from home. The Utes went 13-18 last year and placed seventh in Mountain West at 6-10 ... After opening the year with a 58-55 win over San Diego Christian, the Utes dropped eight in a row before picking up their second victory of the year one month later ... Utah is averaging 56.9 points and 30.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, the Utes are allowing 71.7 points per game and 47.0 percent shooting ... Keep an eye on: Josh Watkins (15.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 69 assists), Jason Washburn (10.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 58.3 percent shooting) and Chris Hines (6.9 ppg, team-best 23 three-pointers).

Stanford All-Time vs. Utah
Utah owns a 14-7 edge in the all-time series, including wins in the last two matchups. The previous meeting back on Mar. 20, 1997 resulted in a 82-77 overtime victory for Utah in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Stanford's last victory in the series was an 80-71 home triumph on Jan. 20, 1973. Stanford is 4-2 against Utah in six home contests.
