Synchro Completes Weekend Sweep Over Arizona

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford synchronized swimming team completed the weekend sweep over Arizona, Sunday, at the Avery Aquatic Center. The Cardinal won all four events as well as the `A' Elements and `B' Figures competitions.

Stanford swept the trio competition as the Cardinal finished in the top three places. The team of Madison Crocker, Morgan Fuller and Michelle Moore won the event with a score of 92.500, improving on their score of 87.333 which won the event on Saturday.

The trio of Debbie Chen, Maria Koroleva and Olivia Morgan placed second with 90.833 points, while freshmen Megan Hansely, junior Corinne Smith and Koko Urata finished third with 88.000 points.

Sophomores Koroleva and Morga won the duet competition for the second straight day with 92.500 points, while senior Taylor Durand and Chen placed second with 92.167 points.

Freshman Jessica Guenther won the solo competition for the Cardinal for the second day in a row with 92.133 points, and senior Gayle Lee came in second with 90.167 points.

Stanford also won the team competition on day two with a score of 92.833. Competing for the Cardinal was freshman Alex Bollaidlaw, Chen, Crocker, Durand, Fuller, Guenther, Hansley, Moore and Smith.

The Cardinal and the Wildcats will compete again this week in Tucson, Ariz., Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. MT.
