STANFORD, Calif - Host, Stanford University, and UC Davis advanced to tomorrow's title game at the Division I Western Women's Lacrosse League Championship. The teams will play at New Maloney Field at 4:00 pm.
In the first game, UC Davis defeated Cal Poly SLO, 9-2. The game was close at halftime with UC Davis leading 5-2. However, Cal Poly was held scoreless in the second half, while Davis added four goals. UC Davis was led by Allison Stonebarger with three goals, while Nalani Ngoon added two.
In the night cap, Stanford defeated UCLA, 23-4, allowing the Bruins two goals in each half. Kate Reilly and Carey Jones had four goals each for the Cardinal. Johanna Williams had two of the Bruins' four goals.
Stanford vs. UC Davis will take place at 4:00 pm at New Maloney Field. Cal Poly SLO and UCLA will compete in the Division I consolation game at 2:00 pm. The Division II championship game between Whittier College and the University of San Diego will begin at noon, preceded by the Division II consolation game between UC Santa Cruz and Pacific at 10:00 am.
