Stanford, Calif. - No. 11 Stanford returns home on Wednesday to take on No. 19 Hofstra at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium. The Cardinal enter Wednesday's game undefeated at Cagan Stadium this season at 4-0. Its one home loss came at Varsity Turf in a game versus No. 1 Northwestern that had to be moved to the field hockey facility due to inclement weather.
This will be the third meeting all-time between Stanford and Hofstra with the two teams splitting the previous two matchups. In the most recent game, Stanford topped the Pride 9-8 in overtime, back in 2004.
Hofstra will be the seventh ranked opponent for Stanford as it completes its difficult non-conference season. The Cardinal is 2-4 against ranked opponents this season. After the Hofstra game, Stanford will begin in MPSF conference season against Fresno State on Friday night in Fresno.
