WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Stanford divers Meg Hostage (Potomac, MD) and Brent Eichenseer (New Albany, OH) swept the Pac-10 Conference's monthly diving awards, as each was named the conference's top male and female diver for the month of January.

For Hostage, this is her fourth career award, giving the Stanford program under Dr. Rick Schavone eight awards all-time, tying them with USC for the most within the conference.

This past month the Stanford senior won six of eight dual events and also took home top finishes in the one and three-meter events at the Bruin Invite.

Hostage closed out the month by winning her final six dual events, posting a one and three-meter sweep of UCLA and USC, as well as wins at Arizona State. One of the highlights was a sweep of the one and three-meter victories over USC's Victoria Ishimatsu, where Hostage scored a season-best in the three-meter (334.65) and also beat Ishimatsu in the one-meter by .975 points.

Eichenseer, meanwhile,  won his first award, posting six wins in nine tries in January. The senior swept Arizona with wins in the one and three meter at Arizona and at Arizona State and also won the three-meter at the Bruing Invite. Eichenseer was also a champion at the Bruin Invite platform.

These awards continue a nice start to the 2011 calendar year for the Stanford diving program. Alumnae Cassidy Krug won the three-meter and the synchronized three-meter at the U.S. Winter Diving Championships this past weekend. Incoming recruit Kristian Ipsen won the men's synchronized three-meter and was second in the three-meter at the championships, as well.
