STANFORD, Calif.-- Cardinal Sports LLC, the exclusive marketing and multimedia partner of Stanford Athletics has announced it has added Monterey’s ESPN 630 AM as an official radio affiliate for Stanford football broadcasts for the upcoming season.
“We are thrilled to be an affiliate of Stanford Cardinal football,” said Kathy Baker, executive vice president for Buckley Radio and general manager at ESPN 630 KIDD radio. “The Monterey Bay has many Stanford fans and we know we’ll have an fantastic response from our listening audience. We are proud to be a part of what promises to be an exciting season for all.”
In addition, Cardinal Sports LLC has announced John Platz, who has served as the color analyst on Stanford’s men’s basketball broadcasts for the past 22 seasons, will join Dave Flemming (play-by-play) and Todd Husak (analyst) on Stanford’s football broadcasts this season as a sideline reporter.
Due to scheduling conflicts with the Oakland A’s on Stanford’s flagship station XTRA Sports 860, four Cardinal football games will be carried live on KNBR 1050, beginning with the season opener against Sacramento State on Sept. 4. Other games scheduled to be picked up on KNBR 1050 include contests against UCLA (Sept. 11), Notre Dame (Sept. 25) and Oregon (Oct. 2).
Broadcasts begin one hour before the scheduled kickoff time with Cardinal Tailgate Show.
