STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford synchronized swimming team opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, Feb. 11 against the University of Incarnate Word. The teams will compete at 12 p.m. at the Avery Aquatic Center.
The Cardinal started the 2012 campaign last weekend at the University of Florida. Stanford placed first against the Gators and the University of Tampa. Junior Madison Crocker won the A figures and the solo competition, while placing second in the duet and trio. Capturing gold in the duet was Stanford seniors Alex Bollaidlaw and Koko Urata. The pair teamed up with sophomore Liane Lovitt to also win the trio event.
Incarnate Word is coming off a second-place finish at the Jessica Black Memorial Meet, hosted by the Ohio State University last weekend. The Cardinals opened the season by winning the Lindenwood Invitational, held Jan. 27-28.
Stanford will remain on The Farm next week to play host to Lindenwood University, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18. The competition will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Avery Aquatic Center.
