STANFORD, Calif. - Dear SWG Fans,

Finals are over and it's off to the hotel! Last week was a pretty tough week, filled with studying for our final exams. Friday was awesome to see everyone back in the gym all together, and, better yet, we had a great Game Day. Even though we hadn't been all together we stepped back onto the floor with the same fire. We were a little drained from finals but the energy was not affected. Showing half routines and some full routines on bars everybody looked solid. On vault, we had so much power! Seeing the sky-high vaulters was definitely motivation that was carried to floor. We performed routines with only our dance and the routines sparkled.

Everybody walked on to that floor with attitude and really stepped up in their showmanship and artistry. Peach is always unpredictable in bringing her own edge to her beautifully choreographed floor routine. Ending on beam we also performed dance-throughs and it was great to see the energy from floor carry over to beam. Game day definitely raised the confidence of SWG and got everybody excited for the intersquad on Sunday at SJSU!

SJSU was our first big intersquad outside of the gym and you could feel the excitement. We finally get to show off all our hard work that we put in during preseason. Our first event was bars and Shelley gave us a rock solid first start. Alyssa's perfect form and flawless lines stood out one again and really set the standard for the rest of the lineup. Shout out to Kristina Vaculik who competed her first collegiate bar routine! The momentum from bars fired us up and we carried that over to vault!

It was the first time landing on a hard surface but Ashley and Shelley had perfect stuck landings! It was great to see everyone maintain the power they showed during Friday's Game Day.

Floor is always exciting with everyone bringing their energy. Peach impressed the audience with her new floor routine and Dani's intensity was fierce and quite intimidating. Ashley's tumbling is so powerful with an Arabian double front, front through to double pike and a double back! For so early in the season it is great to see that level of difficulty.

Beam was our last event and Alyssa gave us a great, solid start. Dani had an amazing routine, nailing every skill with confidence. All in all, our first intersquad went very well! It was great to be out on the competition floor again, and as a freshman it was amazing to experience our first meet with SWG! Our team is looking consistent already, something tough to accomplish so early. We have some areas we know to work on so it's back to the gym for another week and a half before we break for a week. We are all excited for our Meet the Team event on Saturday at 2! It's going to be a blast! Thanks for reading! Go SWG!
