CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Cardinal continue its road trip with a pair of games this week, facing Harvard and Albany. The Crimson hosts Stanford at 1pm on Wednesday, before Stanford travels to Albany for a noon first draw on Friday.
Stanford dropped the first game of the road trip at Brown, 14-9, and is now 2-5 on the season. A tough early schedule has made things difficult on the Cardinal and it will look to get back on track with the final two non-conference games. Following this week's games, Stanford will enter MPSF play for seven games with a postseason berth on the line.
The Boeri sisters (Emilie Boeri and Anna Boeri) continue to lead the Stanford attack. The duo has combined for 29 goals and 16 assists with Emile (15 goals, 12 assists) leading the team in both. Catherine Swanson has chipped in 10 goals and a team-leading 21 draw controls.
Harvard enters Wednesday's game 3-4, but is coming off a win over Yale after losing its previous three contests. The Crimson has a balanced attack with Danielle Tetreault, Melanie Baskind and Micaela Cyr each with double-digit goals.
The teams played last season at Cagan Stadium with Stanford hanging on for an 18-17 victory. The win improved Stanford to 2-1 all-time against Harvard.
Friday, the Cardinal will travel to Albany to face the 6-2 Great Danes. Albany started 6-0 and was ranked as high as No. 13 in the nation, but has since lost two straight and fallen out of the rankings. The Great Danes lost a home game to a ranked UMass team, before falling to UMBC on the road.
Despite the recent losses, Albany is a strong team led by a prolific scoring offense. Jess Anteimi leads the squad with 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists), while Ariana Parker has notched 21 goals. Five others have double-digit points, including three others with 14 or more goals.
