STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's Allyse Ishino was named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week for her performance in the Cardinal's dual-meet victory at Utah on Friday.
Ishino, a fifth-year senior out of Santa Ana, Calif., won the uneven bars and balance beam with 9.90 scores on the way to capturing the all-around victory in Stanford's 196.825-196.500 triumph before nearly 14,000 fans in Salt Lake City.
Her all-around score of 39.475 was a collegiate career high, and her beam mark tied her all-time best while helping No. 2 Stanford break a tie score going into the final rotation.
Ishino also was fourth on the floor (9.825) and fifth on vault (9.85) for the Cardinal (8-0), which continues its season Saturday against San Jose State at Burnham Pavilion at 4 p.m.
This is Ishino's second Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week honor, and second in as many weeks for Stanford, following Shelley Alexander's award for her performance against UCLA on Jan. 23.
