Beth Goode and Chris Hutchins have been appointed Senior Associate Athletic Directors at Stanford, Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby announced today. Goode will assume the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator while Hutchins will take over as Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations.
Goode joined the Athletic Department in August 1995 as a member of the Media Relations staff. She moved to the Student Services Office in November 1999, was promoted to Director of Compliance in 2002 and was named Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA & Recruiting Services in fall 2005. Goode had been serving as Interim SWA since June.
"We are very pleased to announce Beth Goode's promotion," said Bowlsby. "Beth has done an excellent job as Senior Woman Administrator on an interim basis and she will do an outstanding job in the years ahead."
In her new role, Goode will manage and direct the Athletic Department's NCAA & Pac-10 Rules Compliance efforts, serve as the primary liaison to the University's Undergraduate Admissions Office, oversee the Athletic Department's gender equity initiatives, assist the Director of Athletics with Title IX compliance, represent Stanford at Pac-10 and NCAA meetings and events in Senior Woman Administrator role, and oversee the operations of several sports within the department.
Hutchins came to Stanford in July, 2005 as a Special Assistant to the Director of Athletics / Stadium Management. She served as the primary project leader in facilitating and coordinating all aspects of the stadium management plan with Stanford Athletics respective departments in regards to marketing, facilities & operations (construction), ticket sales, ticket operations, public relations, and community outreach. Prior to arrival at Stanford, Hutchins, who earned an MBA from MIT in Strategic Management Consulting and Marketing, was the Executive Director for the 2004 Silicon Valley Bowl and worked for more than 12 years in the private sector.
"Chris Hutchins will provide exceptional leadership in several areas of our program where growth and improvement are required," said Bowlsby. "Chris possesses a wealth of experience in management and customer service and I believe that her guidance will have a very positive impact on our program."
In her new role, Hutchins will manage all aspects of External Relations for the Athletic Department, including client services, media relations, ticket office operations, computer, internet, and intranet technology services, marketing and promotions.
