Walnut Creek, Calif. - The Stanford women's gymnasts team placed six gymnasts on the Pac-10 Conference All-Academic Teams announced today. Juniors Shelly Goldberg (Mequon, WI) was named to the first team, while Caroline Fluhrer (Seattle, WA) and Lise L?veill? (Burnaby, BC) were selected to the second team.
Goldberg, a 3.96 gpa in mechanical engineering, competes on vault and floor for Stanford and earned first team honors last season as a sophomore. Fluhrer earned second team accolades last year and now holds a 3.65 gpa in civil engineering, while L?veill? received her first honor.
To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter of significant substitute.
