Six Cardinal Gymnasts Named To Pac-10 All-Academic Teams

Walnut Creek, Calif. - The Stanford women's gymnasts team placed six gymnasts on the Pac-10 Conference All-Academic Teams announced today. Juniors Shelly Goldberg (Mequon, WI) was named to the first team, while Caroline Fluhrer (Seattle, WA) and Lise L?veill? (Burnaby, BC) were selected to the second team.

The Cardinal also had three athletes earn honorable mention recognition in Kendall Beck (San Antonio, TX), Alissa Cooper (Silver Spring, MD) and Lindsay Wing (Cypress, TX).

Goldberg, a 3.96 gpa in mechanical engineering, competes on vault and floor for Stanford and earned first team honors last season as a sophomore. Fluhrer earned second team accolades last year and now holds a 3.65 gpa in civil engineering, while L?veill? received her first honor.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter of significant substitute.

My-Lan Dodd, CAL -- So. -- 3.67 gpa (developmental studies)
Caroline Fluhrer, STAN -- Jr. -- 3.65 gpa (civil engineering)
Maggie Germaine, ASU -- Jr. -- 3.40 gpa (kinesiology)
Kristien Harper, ARIZ -- So. -- 3.83 gpa (pre-computer science)
Lise L?veill?, STAN -- Jr. -- 3.67 gpa (biomechanical engineering)
Jamie Williams, UCLA -- Jr. -- 3.78 (psychology)
