Stanford women's lacrosse All-American goalkeeper Laura Shane was named MPSF Co- Player of the Week Monday, following a 15-save performance that helped the Cardinal (9-8, 3-2 MPSF) to a 11-10 victory over Dartmouth over the weekend. The victory over Dartmouth finishes the regular season for the Cardinal, who will enter the MPSF Tournament as the third seed.
Shane, a native of Baltimore, Md., recorded six first-half saves and nine second-half saves to propel the Cardinal to the victory. Shane has been in net for every minute of Stanford's six games, and has recorded a .552 save percentage in that time. This is Shane's third MPSF honor, after winning the award after the season's first weekend and back in the first week of March.
Stanford enters this postseason as it faces off against St. Mary's on Wednesday, April 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif. If the Cardinal should win their first match, they would face second seed California in an MPSF Semifinal.
