Season Outlook

STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford's KNBR 1050 AM broadcasting team of John Platz (play-by-play) and Drew Shiller (analyst) recently joined The Cardinal Channel's Matt Morrison to share their thoughts on the upcoming men's basketball season in the latest edition of the Broadcaster's Roundtable.

knbr 1050 The broadcasters discussed the strengths and concerns surrounding the Cardinal, which has been picked by the media to finish sixth in this year's conference race. Under fourth-year head coach Johnny Dawkins, Stanford is looking to challenge for a spot in the upper half of the revamped Pac-12 conference.

All Stanford games this season will be carried live by KNBR 1050 AM, a Cumulus-owned station that also serves as the flagship for Stanford football broadcasts.

Each basketball radio broadcast on KNBR 1050 AM begins 15 minutes before the opening tip with a pregame show. The postgame show, which airs for 15 minutes following the conclusion of the contest, includes analysis of the game and live interviews with Dawkins and selected Cardinal players.

In addition, five editions of Inside Stanford Sports with Johnny Dawkins will air live on KNBR 1050 AM from 8-9 p.m. on designated dates during the season from Gordon Biersch Restaurant and Brewery, located at 640 Emerson Street in downtown Palo Alto.
