Stanford, Calif. - 15th-rnaked Stanford women's lacrosse (10-2) will host the No. 1 team in the country on Saturday as the Loyola Greyhounds (12-0) arrive on The Farm for a 1 p.m. contest. The Cardinal downed two top-20 teams last weekend, but Loyola is undefeated this season and sits atop the national polls.
The Cardinal traveled to the Midwest last weekend and came away with a 9-5 win over then-No. 20 Northwestern and a 14-13 double overtime victory over then-No. 15 Notre Dame. The wins propelled Stanford into its highest national ranking in school history. The Cardinal's only two losses this season came against Duke and Georgetown, both ranked in the nation's top-three when they visited The Farm.
The Greyhounds are playing their first-ever West Coast game at Stanford as Loyola seeks its 13th win of the 2003 season. The nation's top-ranked team has outscored their opponents 147-72 this year. Loyola's scoring is led by Suzanne Eyler, who has 35 goals, while Rachel Shuck has accumulated 18 goals and 24 assists to lead the Greyhounds in points.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19th at Maloney Field on the Stanford campus.
