STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford senior wide receiver DeRonnie Pitts will make a special visit to the ESPN.com moderated chat room this Friday at 4 ET to talk to fans about Saturday's 103rd Big Game and his fantastic collegiate career. Pitts will play in his final collegiate game with the Cardinal this Saturday at California.
Pitts is one of the top wide receivers in Stanford history, ranking second in on the Cardinal's all-time list in both receptions (218) and receiving yards (2886), as well as third in touchdown receptions (23). He also ranks second on the Pac-10's career list for receptions (224) and receiving yards (2967).*
Pitts is having a banner senior season with 73 receptions for 826 yards and seven touchdowns through Stanford's first 10 games. He currently leads the Pac-10 and ranks tied for fourth in the nation by averaging 7.30 receptions per game. He is also third in the Pac-10 and 29th in the NCAA in both total receiving yards (826) and receiving yards per game (82.60).
A couple more milestones are within Pitts' reach when he lines up versus California this Saturday. He needs six more catches to move past Brad Muster and into second place on Stanford's single-season reception list. He is also 114 yards from becoming just the second Stanford receiver to ever accumulate 3000 career receiving yards.
If you would like to ask your question for Pitts ahead of time, feel free to leave your questions now and we will save them for his arrival. Otherwise, he will chat with you on Friday.
* Note: The Pac-10 counts bowl games in its career statistics, while Stanford does not.
