STANFORD, Calif. - Despite the presence of Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck at quarterback, Stanford remains a run-first offense under head coach David Shaw.

Last season, the Cardinal averaged 213.8 yards a game in the ground and compiled the second highest rushing total in school history (2,779). With four of its top ground gainers returning from a year ago, including junior Stepfan Taylor, who rushed for 1,137 yards as a sophomore, Stanford's running game will again serve as the catalyst for one of the nation's most productive offenses.

The Cardinal Channel's Matt Morrison recently talked to first year running backs coach Mike Sanford, along with Taylor, Tyler Gaffney and Anthony Wilkerson to get their thoughts on Stanford's running game heading into the 2011 campaign.
