NCAA Women's Singles Championship - Round of 32
Courtesy: Stanford Athletics
Release: 05/25/2006

May 25, 2006

No. 2 women's seed Kristi Miller, Georgia Tech
On coming back after yesterday's three-set win: "The conditions were a little bit different. It's tough the first couple of rounds. I have been fighting through for my first best tennis to come. You know you can play some dangerous people in the first couple of rounds when you're a high seed and they don't have a lot to lose and you just have to go out there and compete. You have to be confident that your best tennis will come out."

No. 1 women's seed Audra Cohen, Miami
"I came out here really slow and played an awful first set and didn't really get my heels into the match until halfway through the second set. I think early round nerves got to me, but by the time it was the third set, I started to play better tennis and out-competed her and played my game and stuck to it and got the `W'. At four-all in the second set, I went up 5-4, and after that I didn't lose another game the entire match."

No. 8 women's seed Amber Liu, Stanford
"I played all right. It's pretty windy out there today, so it's kind of tough, but overall, it was nice to get through the second round. I'm just going to take it one match at a time now."
