Redwood City, Calif. --- Sailing hosted the annual Stanford Invitational Regatta. Both the Cardinal women's team and co-ed team had a strong showing, taking first and second places. The strong sophomore team of Jen Porter and crew Jessica Gray, and Ashley Frush with crew Jenais Zarlin squeaked out a win in a tie breaker over the Stanford co-ed team and the other 10 teams competing at the annual Stanford Invitational Regatta.

Proving they are a top women's team, capable of playing on the varsity level, Porter/Gray finished second in A Division, 12 points behind division dominators Stanford's Dave Phillips '04 and Kara Sweeney '03, who had five first place finishes in 10 races. Frush/Zarlin finished third in B Division with 33 points, close behind both California and the UCSB women's team (first and second respectively). Stanford co-ed B Division of Guy Marion '02 and Sonja Bebber '04 were fourth in B, 12 points behind Frush/Zarlin. With tied scores of 68 points for each combined team, the tie-breaker came down to the B-Division Stanford women beating the B-Division Stanford co-eds more often.
