NORMAL, Ill. - Six women's gymnasts off the 2000 Stanford squad that ranked 13th in the nation were honored as Academic All-Americans by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women. As a team, the Cardinal finished eighth with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.43.
To qualify for individual honors, the athlete must have maintained a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Senior Kim Young (4.00), junior Jenny Wilson (3.83), freshman Alissa Cooper (3.78), freshman Abby Gair (3.65), senior Sarah Harding (3.63) and freshman Julia McCraw (3.63) were among the 344 women's gymnasts nation-wide to maintain excellence in competition and academics.
