Stanford, Calif. - No. 17 Stanford toppled the University of Maryland - Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers 17-7 today at Maloney Field. Eight different members of the Cardinal squad scored today as Stanford improved to 7-2 on the season. The Retrievers' Jen Dragoni netted three goals to lead her team as UMBC dropped to 2-6 on the year.

Stanford tallied the first goal of the day, but UMBC tied the match at 1-1 nine minutes into the contest. Four minutes later, the Cardinal's Megan Burker posted the go-ahead goal as Stanford maintained the lead for the remainder of the game. Abbi Hills posted a game-high four goals and added one assist while Kim Cahill tabbed two goals and three assists. The Cardinal held a 7-3 halftime lead, but Stanford tabbed ten goals in the second half to extend its lead.

In goal, Christina Saikus collected 16 saves and allowed only 6 goals in her 57 minutes of action. Kate Horowitz earned three minutes of playing time in the net and recorded one save.

The Cardinal will stray from The Farm as Stanford heads to St. Mary's on Friday April 7th for a 4 p.m. match. Stanford then travels to Northwestern and Notre Dame the following week before hosting No. 1 Loyola on April 19th.
