STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford Football is proud to announce new social media offerings for 2010, allowing Cardinal fans near and far to follow the team through such portals as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the new Cooliris Liveshare mobile application.
The official fan page of Stanford Football, www.facebook.com/stanfordfootball, offers fans behind-the-scenes updates, player-hosted videos and other content that brings you as close to Stanford Football as you can get without putting on the pads.
New for Stanford Football fans in 2010 is a way to share your experience at Stanford Stadium live through the newly-released and cutting-edge Cooliris Liveshare mobile application. Fans can download the Cooliris Liveshare application for iPhone and Android by searching for Cooliris Liveshare in iTunes and the Android Market. Watch for Stanford Football home games to be added to the list of events on Cooliris Liveshare in the near future.
Utilizing this new application, Cardinal fans may take and share photographs of their experiences at Stanford Football home games. Photos taken during pregame, in-game and postgame activities by Cooliris Liveshare users will be automatically uploaded to the Stanford Football Facebook page, while the best of the fan photos will be selected to appear on the Stanford Stadium video board during the contest.
Additionally, fans can follow Stanford Football (www.twitter.com/StanfordFball) and Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football Jim Harbaugh (www.twitter.com/JimHarbaugh) on Twitter for coverage of team activities and real-time updates. Fans at Stanford Stadium or following the Cardinal from afar can follow @StanfordFball during games this year for live updates, statistics and reports from the sidelines and locker room. Updates are currently flowing from the Cardinal's training camp and will continue through the season and offseason with all the latest Stanford Football insights.
Fans can also find additional insider video clips from the practice field, locker room, road trips, student life and more on the new Stanford Football YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/StanfordFball.
Cardinal fans are reminded to follow Stanford Football via these social media channels to catch the latest information and videos on the team as well as for the Stanford Football Open House. The event, set for August 29 at 1 p.m. at Stanford Stadium, is free and open to the public. Fans will be able to hear from Coach Harbaugh, get autographs from their favorite players and kids in the eighth grade and younger will have the opportunity to participate in fun football skills instruction on the playing field.
