Stanford, Calif. - Stanford women's lacrosse (2-0, 2-0 MPLL) will host the University of Denver Pioneers in the Cardinal's second home game of the season this Sunday, March 2nd, at 4 p.m. on Maloney Field. This will be the Pioneer's first game in 2003. The Cardinal travels to Ohio State for a game on Friday, coming off a win at home against New Hampshire last Saturday.
Denver's season opener against Davidson was canceled due to extreme weather conditions on the East Coast. The Pioneers went 6-11 overall in 2002.
Stanford captured a second win last Saturday over the Wildcats 19-9. Freshman Katie Horowitz started in the goal for the first time and stayed in for the entire 60 minutes making 7 saves. Sophomore Kelsey Twist and freshman Megan Burker led the Cardinal in goals with four each.
