SAN FRANCISCO-- Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will air the 2010 Stanford Football Preview, hosted by Scott Reiss, on Wednesday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. The show will feature an exclusive one-on-one interview with Andrew Luck and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of a mic’d up Coach Jim Harbaugh during the first practice of the season.
The show will also present a feature on senior fullback/linebacker Owen Marecic, who is considered the best fullback in the nation and the emotional leader of the Cardinal and is a rare breed in college football – a competitor who plays both offense and defense.
Afterwards, the program will take a look at the new defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, who is the former defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans, and who brings over 25 years of NFL experience to The Farm. Former Stanford quarterback and current radio announcer, Todd Husak, will provide expert analysis and examine the top candidates to replace Toby Gerhart at running back.
The Stanford Cardinal continue to make huge strides under fourth-year head coach Jim Harbaugh and hope to exceed last year’s success of earning a bid to the Sun Bowl. Despite losing Heisman runner-up Toby Gerhart, the Cardinal are starting the season loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. Led by quarterback Andrew Luck the Cardinal are gunning for a Pac-10 Championship.
The Cardinal open their 2010 season at home against the Sacramento State Hornets on September 4 at 3:30 p.m., airing live on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. Tickets are available by calling 1-800-STANFORD.
After the August 18 (9:00 p.m.) debut on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, 2010 Stanford Football Preview replays on August 19 at (2:30 p.m.) and August 26 (7:00 p.m.). 2010 Stanford Football Preview is also available on Comcast Digital Cable’s ON DEMAND Channel 1.
