STANFORD, Calif. - In a final preparation for its Feb. 7 season-opener, the No. 19 Stanford women's lacrosse team gets a final tuneup at the Cal Playday on Saturday in Berkeley.
Stanford is one of 14 teams in the event, which does not count on the teams' records. Stanford plays four games of 25 minutes each, all at Memorial Stadium.
New coach Amy Bokker said her team will work on its own game and not concern itself so much with the opponents.
"We're going to really focus on our team and what we need to work on," Bokker said. "Our main goal is to come out feeling confident and prepared with where we are going into Oregon and the start of the season."
Stanford (12-8 last season) plays its first game at Oregon on Feb. 7, before opening its home season Feb. 12 against Fresno State at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.
The following is Stanford's schedule Saturday, with each game at Memorial Stadium:
10 a.m.: Stanford vs. Saint Mary's
10:30 a.m.: Stanford vs. California
1:30 p.m.: Stanford vs. UC Santa Barbara
3 p.m.: Stanford vs. Fresno State
