Corvallis, Ore. -- A run in the top of the seventh inning gave the 10th-ranked Stanford softball team (44-14, 8-10 Pac-10) a 2-1 victory over 12th-ranked Oregon State (36-17-1, 7-11 Pac-10) today at the Ropes-Fetrow Field. Freshman P Dana Sorensen pitched a complete game and struckout eight batters to improve her record to 22-7. Today's victory gave the Cardinal a weekend three-game sweep of the Oregon schools this weekend.

In the Stanford seventh, senior C Kellie Wiginton hit a one-out double to left field and then scored on a two-out single by junior 3B Jenni Shideler that went through the middle of the infield.

Oregon State scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Singles by Parisa Plant and Brynnen Gutherie gave the Beavers runners at first and second, allowing Shelly Prochaska to drive in a run with a single to left field. Sorensen got out of the jam by striking out the final two batters of the inning.

The Cardinal came back quickly, scoring a run in the top of the fourth inning to tie the score. Junior OF Ramona Shelburne led off with a double to left field and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore SS Robin Walker. Sophomore OF Jessica Mendoza then hit her 19th double of the season to drive in Shelburne.

Stanford will conclude its regular-season at home against Arizona and Arizona State this upcoming weekend. The Cardinal and Wildcats will play a single game on Friday at 2 p.m., before Stanford takes on the Sun Devils in a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m.
