2011 Pan-American Games Site

STANFORD, Calif. - The 2011 Pan-American Games, hosted in Guadalajara, Mexico, begin this week, covering competition in 34 sports and disciplines from Oct. 13-30. Twenty-six current, former and incoming Stanford athletes will compete over 13 sports, representing the United States and Canada.

Stanford athletes will participate, or are still attempting to qualify to compete, in men's basketball, men's and women's diving, men's and women's gymnastics, women's squash, men's and women's swimming, synchronized swimming, women's track, women's volleyball, and men's and women's water polo.

Stanford will be represented by the following athletes, along with their national team, in the following sports:

Men's Basketball

* - Goods will participate in the USA Basketball Pan-American Games Team camp from Oct. 14-22. The final 12-man U.S. roster will be named at the conclusion of the camp.

Brenda Villa '03 (USA) will be issuing recaps each morning beginning Sunday, October 16, as diving, women's squash and women's volleyball begins play the day prior. Guadalajara, Mexico is located in the Central Time Zone, two hours ahead of the West Coast.
