Dumais and Eichenseer Both Second in City of Angels

LOS ANGELES-- Stanford's Brent Eichenseer (platform) and Dwight Dumais (one-meter) each finished second to USC's Harrison Jones on the opening day of USC's Diving Invitational.

At USC, Eichenseer finished second to USC's Harrison Jones in the men's platform with a score of 341.75, to Jones' 350.00 leading tally. Jones, a three-time All-American as a freshman at the NCAAs, won last year's Pac-10 platform championship.

Dumais was second in the one-meter finals with a score of 360.15 after the top preliminary score of 351.60. Dumais lost out to Jones, who scored 370.00 to lead the pack. Eichenseer was sixth in the finals (259.20) as well as the prelims (270.30). Dumais had beaten Jones last year in the Pac-10 one-meter championship for his second career title.

In the women's three-meter finals, Mary Beth Corbett was sixth with a score of 261.15 after placing seventh in the preliminaries (252.40).

USC's diving competition runs through Saturday.
