Stanford, Calif. - Stanford senior goalkeeper Laura Shane was named MPSF Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4 -Feb. 10, as announced by MPSF Commissioner Al Beaird. Shane recorded 14 saves in Stanford's 8-7 victory over Oregon last Friday. She allowed just one goal in the second half as the Cardinal came back from a 6-4 halftime deficit and rallied to defeat the Ducks.
Shane, a native of Baltimore, Md. is a two-time IWLCA All-American and has recorded 22 saves on the season with a .629 save percentage.
Cardinal attack Daphne Patterson was also named MPSF Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 28 -Feb. 1. Patterson tied a school-record by scoring six goals including five in the second half. She also chipped in an assist and scored a goal against Oregon to give her seven goals on the season. Patterson is coming off a junior season in which she led the team in goals with 33 and assists with 17.
