The Stanford Women will compete at the 2005 NCAA Championship this weekend at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, CA. Based on their second place Pac-10 Championship finish the Cardinal earned the opportunity to compete against the top fifteen eights from the five regions that comprise Division I women's rowing. The Stanford boat was ranked No. 8 in the May 18 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll.
The Cardinal will race in one of three preliminary heats on Friday morning with the top three boats from each advancing to Saturday's semi-final. On Saturday, the top three finishers from each of the two semi-finals advance to the grand final on Sunday.
The Cardinal last appeared at the 2003 NCAA and finished third in the varsity eight event.
