Tabitha Yim, Natalie Foley Set To Compete At NCAA Championship

Corvallis, Or - Two Cardinal gymnasts, Natalie Foley and Tabitha Yim, will represent Stanford University when the 2006 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship kickoffs on Thursday, April 20, at Oregon State's Gill Coliseum.

Tabitha Yim and Natalie Foley will compete in the All-Around. Yim gained entrance into the NCAA Championshp by winning the All-Around (39.525) title at the recent NCAA West Regional at Stanford University. Foley finished third (39.225).

Championship competition will begin on Thursday with preliminary team competition (1:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.). The top three qualifying teams from each session will advance to the Super Six team finals on Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. The individual event championships will be held on Saturday, Aptil 22, at 7:00 p.m. The All-Around champion and event finalists will be determined during the preliminary competition on Thursday. Official announcement of the All-Around competition will be on Friday. Individuals qualify for event finals by placing in the top four in an event during the preliminary session (Thursday).

Yim and Foley will compete during the second session (7:00 p.m.) on Thursday. They will begin competition on Vault and following a bye in the second rotation, will move to Bars and Beam ... Following another bye, they will conclude the event on Floor Exercise.

Live scoring will be provided on the NCAA official site (www.ncaasports.com) ... The meet will also be televised by CBS on a tape-delayed basis on Saturday, May 6, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (pt).

Scored a 39.025 in the All-Around at the West Regional in Seattle to finish eighth ... Tied for fourth on Bars with a 9.800 mark ... Had one of her top performances at the Pac-10 Championship, scoring a 39.075 in the All-Around to finish sixth ... 2004 Season (Sophomore): Established herself as one of the best All-Around performers in the country ... Tied for first on the Vault at the North Central Regional with a 9.900 ... Took second place in the All-Around (39.350), tied for first on Vault (9.900), placed fifth on Beam (9.875), seventh on Bars (9.825) and 13th on Floor Exercise (9.835) at the NCAA Regional Championship ...
