Release: 03/07/2002

Stanford basketball fans will be able to see Collins return as a starting NBA center when his Utah Jazz team battles the Golden State Warriors at the Arena in Oakland on Saturday, April 13 at 7:30pm. Fox Sports Bay Area will be televising the game to the local area market. A group gathering is being planned for fans to come together to see Jarron Collins in action. The Cage Club, Sixth-Man Club and other Stanford supporter groups will be able to get their basketball fix and enjoy the exploits of a former-Stanford star player who was instrumental in last season's highly successful 31-win season.

Stanford fans will recall that Jarron Collins teamed with his twin brother Jason to propel the Cardinal to a #1 national ranking during the 2000-2001 season which included a school record 20 straight wins to open the campaign.

Collins, a second-round draft pick, will be coming into the game averaging over twenty minutes per game and shooting .482 from the field as a first-year professional. This should be a hotly contested game with the Jazz team challenge for a play-off spot in the highly competitive Midwest Division of the NBA's Western Conference.
