Complete 2006 All-Pac-10 Team Release

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Linebacker Michael Okwo and cornerback Wopamo Osaisai were selected to the 2006 All-Pac-10 Conference First Team on Monday, highlighting the recognition received by four Stanford players on the 2006 All-Pac-10 Conference squads. Cornerback/safety Brandon Harrison and safety Trevor Hooper picked up honorable mention honors.

Okwo, who was also a First Team All-Pac-10 choice in 2004, is second on the team with 86 tackles despite missing two games and has a 9.56 tackle per game average that leads the Pac-10 and ranks 15th in the nation. Okwo is also second on the squad with 49 solo stops and ranks 19th nationally with an average of 5.44 per contest. He is also one of three Stanford players tied for the team lead with 2.0 sacks, while ranking second on the club with 5.0 tackles-for-loss. Okwo had 15 tackles against Washington State on September 23 - the most by a Stanford player this season - and picked up a career-best nine solo stops at UCLA on September 30. He had double digit tackles in each of the first five games he played this year.

Osaisai, who was named as a specialist, has keyed Stanford on special teams in 2006 as the team's top cover specialist on punt returns, while also seeing action as a starter at cornerback and as a kick returner. He has played in all 11 games for the Cardinal with five starts at cornerback and has contributed 48 tackles. Osaisai provided one of Stanford's biggest highlights of the season when he returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown against Arizona on October 14.

Harrison has split up his 10 starts in 2006 with five coming at cornerback and the other five at safety. He is fourth on the club in both total (67) and solo (44) tackles, ranking 18th in the conference in the former. He also has a team-high five pass breakups and an interception.

Hooper is second on the club behind Okwo with 84 tackles and sixth in the Pac-10. He also shares the team-lead with 2.0 tackles-for-loss, while adding an interception. He has led or co-led Stanford in tackles four times this season.
