No. 10 Stanford women's gymnastics did not miss a beat after a 16-day break during finals, and posted their second highest score of the season in a runaway victory in the UC Davis quad meet. The Cardinal posted a score of 197.000, which was only behind their score of 197.375 earlier this season in the "Big Flip" against California.
In their dominating performance, the Cardinal won each of the four events on the evening. Stanford was led by senior All-American Tabitha Yim, who recorded a 39.400 in the all-around. Junior Nicole Ourada also performed in the all-around, and finished with a total score of 39.200.
The Cardinal had lots of stellar performances on Sunday night, starting with senior Liz Tricase earning a team-high 9.950 on her vault routine. Yim also earned a 9.925 on vault and Ourada recorded a 9.875.
With the vault event in hand, Stanford moved to the uneven bars where redshirt freshman Allyse Ishino scored a 9.875 and Ourada also recorded the same score. The Cardinal continued to push out their lead in the early going, with none of the competition able to keep up to their hot start.
In the last two events Stanford cruised to the easy victory, and also had some great individual performances along the way. Junior Kelly Fee scored a 9.850 on beam to lead the team and Davis native, Tenaya West earned a 9.900 for her floor routine.
The victory pushed the Cardinal record to 14-4 on the season as they prepare for the Pac-10 Championships next weekend on the campus of the University of Washington.
