STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's gymnastics team will be showcased in upcoming events Dec. 12-13, with a competition at San Jose State, and with an interactive event at Ford Center.
On Saturday, Dec. 12, Stanford will compete in an intersquad meet at San Jose State's Spartan Gym at 6:30 p.m. Please, note the new later time.
On Sunday, Dec. 13, the Cardinal will host `Meet the Team' and `Parents' Day Out' events at its Ford Center training facility, beginning at 2 p.m.
The San Jose State meet is the last in a series of weekly intrasquad-type competitions that have tested the Cardinal in meet-like conditions.
`Meet the Team' is an annual event for the program. It begins with a one-hour free structured intrasqud demonstration, followed by an autograph session.
The `Parents' Day Out' goes from 3:30-6:30 p.m. and involves gym time, pizza, games and movies for girls and boys from ages 5-17. The cost is $30 per child.
Kids can `play' in the 15,000 Ford Center facility and are provided with an opportunity for young fans and aspiring gymnasts to meet and interact with members of this year's team - a group of amazing young women who embrace the responsibility of being role models.
The weekend acts as a final preparation for Stanford's season opener Jan. 9 at Georgia.
