CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Cardinal Women Sailors took home second place overall at this weekend's season opener for collegiate women's double-handed sailing. Home team and #1 ranked College of Charleston took first overall by a significant lead. "It's hard to beat Charleston on their water," commented coach Jay Kehoe, "the light air and chop in the 420 favored the Charleston team." The 11th-ranked Stanford women eaked out a one point victory over 9th ranked Georgetown and 7th ranked St Mary's of Maryland. There were 9 races held in the two-day event on the Ashley River in Charleston.
