STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford's countdown to its date with Virginia Tech in the 2011 Discover Orange Bowl one week from today officially began at 9:30 a.m. PT today when players, coaches and staff departed from campus on its way to board the charter flight that will take the team to Miami, Fla.
The charter is scheduled to land in South Florida between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. ET. Upon arrival, head coach Jim Harbaugh and select Stanford players will take part in a press conference on the tarmac before boarding buses that will take the team and staff to its team hotel.
Following a team dinner, players and staff will meet briefly with Orange Bowl officials before enjoying some relaxation time at the hotel.
Stanford will hold a two hour practice session Tuesday afternoon at Barry College, where the team will workout daily heading up to the January 3 showdown with Virginia Tech.
GoStanford.com will provide daily team coverage of the Cardinal during bowl week, including video interviews, photo galleries and team reports. In addition, GoStanford.com will launch the "Cardinal Channel: Orange Bowl All-Access," which will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes content to fans all throughout bowl week.
