Dead Week may have descended upon The Farm, but three Cardinal programs aim to keep their seasons very much alive this weekend.
Stanford men's water polo goes for its 11th NCAA title this weekend, hosting the 2013 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship at Avery Aquatic Center. The Caridnal, the draw's No. 3 seed, hosts Whittier College Thursday at 2:45 p.m. in the second of the day's play-in games. The winner of that contest will go on to face No. 2 Pacific Saturday at 2:45 p.m.
Women's volleyball opens the NCAA Tournament Thursday as well, hosting MEAC champion Hampton at 7 p.m. in the nightcap of the first-round doubleheader at Maples Pavilion. Alabama and Oklahoma lead off the day's action at 4:30 p.m., with the winners meeting in Friday's second-round match at 7 p.m.
Rounding out the Stanford weekend will be the Cardinal football team, which visits Pac-12 South champion Arizona State Saturday for the Pac-12 Football Championship Game. Kickoff is set for 4:45 p.m. on ESPN as the Cardinal battles for a second straight trip to the Rose Bowl.
