STANFORD, Calif. – Television plans for the early portion of Stanford’s 2014 football schedule as well as several other select games have been announced by the Pac-12 Conference.
The two-time defending Pac-12 champion Cardinal is set to open its season against UC Davis on Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. (PT) on Pac-12 Networks.
The following week, Stanford begins defense of its two straight conference titles by playing host to USC (Sept. 6) at 12:30 p.m. on ABC.
Continuing its string of afternoon games early in the season, Stanford welcomes Army on Sept. 13 in a 2 p.m. game on Pac-12 Networks.
Stanford will travel to Notre Dame on Oct. 4 in a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC.
The Cardinal’s first scheduled night game comes Oct. 10 against Washington State in a Friday night matchup that will be shown live on ESPN at 6 p.m.
Stanford other scheduled televised game at this stage is the regular season finale, which comes at UCLA in a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on Nov. 28. That game will be shown on ABC.
Television plans for Stanford’s other games -- Sept. 27 at Washington, Oct. 18 at Arizona State, Oct. 25 vs. Oregon State, Nov. 1 at Oregon, Nov. 15 vs. Utah and Nov. 22 at Cal -- have yet to be scheduled. All remaining television game selections and start times for those games will be made 12 or six days in advance.
The Cardinal was 7-0 at Stanford Stadium in 2013 for its third unbeaten home record in the last four seasons. Stanford and LSU are the only "power-5" schools with only one home loss over the past four years, and Stanford is one of just three programs with 46 or more victories in that span.
Stanford is the only program in the country to have played in four straight BCS games.
