BRATISLAVA, Slovakia – Freshman fencer Eliza Klyce was in Bratislava, Slovakia this past weekend to compete in the women’s foil at the Junior World Cup.
Klyce would take home 48th place in the event, her second competition on the national and international stage this month. She was in Cleveland, Ohio one week ago competing in the USA Fencing November North American Cup.
In her opening match in the round of 64, Klyce came up short, falling to the No. 15 seeded Sandra Sulik of Poland, 15-7. By finishing in the top 64 Klyce picked up two international points to give her 12 for the season. She previously picked up eight points in Lyon, France back in February and two points in Leszno, Poland last December.
Klyce will begin her Stanford career in January when the Cardinal hosts two days of competition Jan. 10-11.
