STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford women’s golf team shot a 1-over on the second day of the Stanford Intercollegiate Hosted by Condoleezza Rice to sit in fourth overall with a two-day even par showing.

“We had another really solid round today,” Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women’s Golf Anne Walker said. “I thought Mariah Stackhouse and Lauren Kim stepped up and helped us out with some birdies down the stretch.”

Stanford carded a 285 Saturday after checking in with a 283 one round prior. The Cardinal holds a one-stroke advantage over Pepperdine and trails Washington by two shots. USC, which went 12-under Saturday, is 20-under through two rounds. UCLA had a round-best 16-under to move up the standings into second at 12-under.

“We are right where we want to be,” said Walker. “Our goal tomorrow is to try and put together another good round and finish in the top five.”

The top individual for Stanford continued to be Mariah Stackhouse. She is in the hunt for the individual title after shooting a 2-under on Saturday, and fourth overall at 5-under.

USC’s Sophia Popov leads the field at 9-under.

Lauren Kim is just outside the top 10 after her 1-under 70. She has a two-day total of 141 after shooting even par on Friday and is tied for 12th heading into the final round.

Two Stanford golfers at 1-over for the tournament as Mariko Tumangan and Marissa Mar each shot even-par Saturday to tie for 23rd. Tumangan had five birdies during the second day of action.

Play will start Sunday at 7:30 a.m. (PT). Stanford will begin its final day at 8:15 a.m. off the first tee.
