STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford baseball team hosted its annual alumni game Sunday afternoon with former Cardinal from the Class of 1954 through 2012 in attendance. The current varsity team took down the alumni, 9-1, after an old-timers game to kick off the activities at Sunken Diamond.

Highlighting those in attendance was Nationals reliever Drew Storen, as well as a host of other current and former professional players. The friendly games were well-played throughout, with the alumni contributing a solid defensive effort and seven hits in the second contest.

Junior Alex Blandino gave the Cardinal an early 1-0 lead on a towering home run to left field and Stanford cruised from there. The current players put up 11 hits en route to a 9-0 lead, before the alumni got on the board in the ninth. Brendan Domaracki scored the lone for the visitors after doubling and later forcing a balk while on third base.

The current Cardinal begins its 2014 regular season Feb. 14 against Rice. For the complete schedule, click here.
