• Showed his talent on USATF youth competition with the Walton Youth Track Club because there is no javelin in Georgia high school track and field.
• Traveled to Finland in the summer of 2013 with seven other elite high school throwers to train with Finnish national coaches as part of the Kultan Keihas project.
• Did not compete in 2013 because of a back injury.
