At Stanford: Outstanding middle-distance prospect with range to be a strong collegiate cross-country runner.

2013 Season (Sophomore): Made his collegiate cross-country debut at the USF Invitational, placing 29th in 26:57.3 (8K) at Golden Gate Park ... also placed 151st at the Bronco Invite (26:02.1) and 23rd at the Doc Adams Invite (25:29, 8K) ... named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

2012 Season (Freshman): Did not race.

High School: The Washington 4A state champion in the 800 meters (1:53.16) while at Gig Harbor High School, the alma mater of former Stanford teammate Miles Unterreiner ... helped the Tides win Washington's Class 4A championship and become the first team from west of the Cascades Mountains to win the state's large-school classification in 25 years.

Personal: His father, Danny Drinkwater, was a member of Nike's Backside Track Club in Eugene in the early 1980s and was a training partner of Olympian Mary Slaney ... majoring in economics.
