OJAI, Calif.- No. 41 Stanford topped No. 33 Washington 4-2 on Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Championships.

The Cardinal (12-10, 3-4 Pac-12) moved one step closer to securing an NCAA Tournament at-large berth, earning its second win of the season over Washington (17-11, 3-4 Pac-12) after beating the Huskies 4-3 in Seattle on April 5.

Stanford, which has won four of its last five matches down the stretch, rallied to win the doubles point with victories on courts two and three after Washington gained an early edge at No. 1.

Daniel Ho extended the lead to 2-0 following a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Viktor Farkas at the No. 5 spot.

Washington countered with wins from Marton Bots (3-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2) and Emmett Egger (7-5, 6-4 at No. 4) to even the match at 2-2.

Trey Strobel put the Cardinal back in front 3-2 thanks to a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Nicholas Kamisar on court six.

The clincher came from Maciek Romanowicz on court three, outlasting Max Manthou 7-5, 7-5 to preserve the victory.

Kyle McMorrow was two points away from taking a tough three-setter from John Morrissey at the No. 1 spot before the match was abandoned.

Next up for the Cardinal is a semifinal battle against No. 1 UCLA on Friday at noon. The winner of the Pac-12 Championships receives the conference's automatic postseason bid.
