No. 41 Men's Tennis Falls To No. 1 UCLA, 4-0

OJAI, Calif.- No. 41 Stanford dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 1 UCLA on Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the Pac-12 Championships.

Stanford (12-11, 3-4 Pac-12) suffered its third loss of the year to UCLA (23-1, 7-0 Pac-12), which entered the tournament as the nation's top-ranked team while also sweeping both meetings against the Cardinal in the regular season.

The Cardinal now must hope for an NCAA Tournament at-large berth when postseason selections are announced on Tuesday afternoon.

UCLA claimed the doubles point with victories on courts two and three for a 1-0 lead.

The Bruins then received victories from Karue Sell (6-1, 6-0 at No. 5) and Marcos Giron (6-2, 6-4 at No. 2) before Clay Thompson defeated Robert Stineman 6-2, 6-0 to clinch the match.
