STANFORD, Calif. - Behind senior pitcher Teagan Gerhart, the No. 15/17 Stanford softball team shut out No. 12/14 UCLA 2-0, Saturday, at Smith Family Stadium in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal, which improved to 24-9 overall and 2-4 in the Pac-12, captured its first conference series win of the season, while the Bruins fell to 25-8 on the year and 2-4 in the conference.

Gerhart posted her fourth shutout of the year, improving to 13-4 overall. She allowed just five hits and one walk while fanning two batters. UCLA's Ally Carda took the loss, falling to 16-4 on the season. Neither team committed an error in the contest after combining for seven in Friday night's game.

Offensively, sophomore Cassandra Roulund and freshman Kaitlin Schaberg drove in Stanford's two runs. Sophomore Hanna Winter was 2-for-3 for the Cardinal. Stanford also registered four stolen bases in the game, including two by senior Sarah Hassman.

For the third straight game, the Cardinal scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Roulund singled to right centerfield, scoring Hassman from second for her 20th RBI of the season.

The Cardinal added a run in the bottom of the second inning as Schaberg hit a solo shot to left field. It was the second home run of the season for the rookie.

Up next, Stanford will play a mid-week series at Oregon State, April 2-3, before returning home to play host to second-ranked Arizona State, April 6-7. Saturday's double-header against the Sun Devils will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
